It’s been over a month since I enabled these now. Here’s the story so far (not very impressive to be honest).
Feel free to use this Google Sheet in any way you see fit. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pwTTFH714InYersKDjScTmAaCv-GdXq4bFkJ6Md9S_4/edit?usp=sharing
If you don’t already use responsive / dynamic search ads, then you should consider doing so ASAP…
Here’s the revenue form ppcni.com for the last full 12 months. Moral of the story – don’t rely on AdSense revenue as your sole source of income! There’s also the not insignificant problem with AdSense clicks taking people away from your web site to someone else’s. But if it is a good potential client I’m pretty sure they’ll not be distracted by this. I’ve decided to turn on AdSense ‘Auto Ads‘ to see how they perform, though it looks like they may be overly intrusive at times.
You can see below at a glance how Google make so much money. Imagine how much money big agencies are spending through their accounts!
I’m disappointed with getting only 85% for sure; but in my defence, I didn’t spend any time looking up answers I wasn’t 100% sure about, and a lot of the questions were very ambiguous / badly worded.
Bit of a shame there was one very ambiguous question and one theoretical question I couldn’t be bothered to look up. I have now, and I’ll remember the next time – when competing on the Display Network, CPC bids are effectively converted to CPM (and not the other way round) :-)
Have to get used to saying “Google Ads” instead of “AdWords”…
It would be nice if they got the new interface working 100% before forcing people to use it, oh well….
Here’s the official email from Google. What difference will this make? Very little. Though it does make me wonder why it was ever called ‘AdWords’ in the first place rather than just ‘Ads’.
